Once a year there is an international event called La Eroica though La Rioja. During this event the route you ride on a vintage road bike (built before 1987) and in vintage clothes so it feels like an original Tour de France race from the past century.
The short route starts in Cenicero and will go to Torremontalbo, a small village (15 residents) with a beautiful castle. From there on you will go to Asensio (along dirt roads) to Briones, famous for its walls, stone houses and the wine mecum Vivanco (which I recommend you to visit).
After Briones you will continue the ride to San Vicente de la Sonsierra. A beautiful village with cobbled streets and a medieval bridge.
From here you will go to Navaridas, Páganos, and Laguardia (a car-free village with great food). From here on you will go to Elciego (famous winery Marqués de Riscal) and finish the route in Cenicero.
